Marcelle Renforcils Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover

Let me tell you right off the bat - I have never been more disappointed in a product that I have purchased than this one. I believe I purchased this eye makeup remover gel from Marcelle on sale for $10 CDN. I have never tried any of the other makeup removers from Marcelle, so, I had zero expectations when I tried this one. To use, you are supposed to squeeze some gel onto a cotton pad and massage onto your eye area. The gel feels cool against your eyelid, but if you manage to accidentally get it in your eyes, be warned, it will burn!! I found that rather than removing my makeup, it just merely spread it around my eye. When it came to my waterproof mascara, however, there was no spreading...in fact, my makeup did not even budge. I even tried saturating my lashes with the gel directly from my fingertips...but with no success. For a product that claims to be a waterproof eye makeup remover, it sure does not do a very good job of doing that. :| I guess I will be sticking to my Neutrogena eye makeup remover (review coming up!) for now!

SUMMARY:

Pros:
- honestly, I can't think of one :(

Cons:
- does not remove makeup, especially if it's waterproof
- just smudges and spreads makeup around
- will burn if you get it in your eyes

Would I recommend this?
No.

Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel by Avon

I am so excited to tell you about this product! I recently discovered Avon's Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizng Peel (wow, that's a mouthful!) from my next door neighbour who is an Avon rep. I was a little scared to try this because it is a glycolic acid peel, and I've heard horror stories about people burning their faces. :| But these babies have won Allure's Best of Beauty Award for best peel, and that is for a very good reason. You get 30 pre-soaked pads in one container, and the recommended usage is once every two days. They retail for $35 CDN ($25 USD - with the CDN $ at just above par with the US $, this price difference drives me NUTS, but that's a story for another blog), but I was able to snag them for $15, as Avon had a 2 for $30 promotion last month. I use the pad right after I cleanse my face, it slightly tingles at first, and then after a few seconds it starts to sting a little. The stinging sensation is not overwhelming or painful - more uncomfortable than painful...but it only lasts for a few seconds to a couple of minutes. You can reduce the stinging by applying a moisturizer on your face. If you have extremely sensitive skin, I'm not sure I would recommend this for you, as you may not be able to withstand the stinging - it just depends on your tolerance level. With that said, however, I think the slight tingling and stinging is totally worth the results! I have been using these pads for about 5 weeks now, and my skin has completely transformed! It has become so much smoother (yes, it does live up to its claim to be able to "retexturize" your skin) and it has a nice glow to it now! I have been recommending these pads to all of my friends, lol.

SUMMARY:

Pros:
- skin is clearer and smoother
- gives skin a nice glow

Cons:
- it does sting a little
- people with sensitive skin may not be able to use it

Would I recommend it?
Yes!

Quick Introduction...Nice to meet you too!

Hi there! My name is Nita. I decided to start this beauty blog because there have been times when I wanted to look up reviews on certain makeup products, and unfortunately, I just couldn't find anything online! I feel like by blogging about my reviews of products I love, like and dislike, I may be able to help out a friend considering to try a new product...and maybe there just isn't any other review about it online. I must forewarn you that I am by no means a professional when it comes to cosmetology...I am merely an avid fan. In fact, I have degrees in Criminology and Psychology. But I love all things makeup! I will always give my honest opinions about products, and perhaps throw in some tips here and there that have helped me, as well. I welcome comments and constructive criticism with open arms! Thanks for joining me in my beauty blogging journey! Lots of love, Nita.
